Elizabeth Martin

Elizabeth “Betty" (Marquis) Martin, 88, of Gansevoort, NY, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 2nd at Wesley Health Center in Saratoga Springs NY. She was a resident of Gansevoort, New York but held fond memories of her hometown, Winchendon, MA. Betty was a courageous woman, never afraid to face life's challenges head-on. Despite never formally employed, she dedicated her life to raising her family, a testament to her loving nature. 

Betty was married to her husband Robert Martin until his untimely death in 1976. Betty is survived by her children, Keith (Marie) Martin, Kevin Martin, Brian (Chris) Martin, Robin (Michael) Martin, and Lori (Corey) Martin. She was a doting grandmother to twelve grandchildren and a great-grandmother to twenty-four great-grandchildren. Betty is also survived by  many nieces and nephews who were blessed to have her in their lives. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gertrude Marquis; her siblings, Lillian Diotalevi, Jeannette Roy, Carol Richards, Phyllis Morris, Shirley Cochran, Walter Marquis, Alfred Marquis, and William Marquis; and her son, Gary Martin.

Betty's life was a testament to the power of family and love. She took joy in spending time with her family, and what mattered most to her was her children and grandchildren. Her legacy of love and courage will live on in those who knew her and loved her.
