WINCHENDON - Elizabeth E. "Betty" (Buckley) Johnson, 77, of 103B Ipswich Drive, Winchendon, died peacefully Wednesday morning, September 3rd at the home of her daughter. She was born in Keene, New Hampshire on February17,1931, the daughter of Harold Buckley and Elsie (Morris) Buckley Chadwick and had lived in Winchendon for nearly 50 years. Betty worked in the assembly department at New Hampshire Ball Bearing Co. for 25 years until her retirement. For a period of ten years, she had worked in the Tax Collector's Office for the Town of Winchendon several years ago. She was a member of the Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and attended the Cornerstone Church of the Assemblies of God. She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting and cooking. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She leaves her daughter, Brenda L. Brewer and her husband Ronald K. of Winchendon; a son, Kevin P. Johnson of Marietta, Oklahoma; her husband, Walter M. Johnson of Winchendon; a son-in-law Craig S. Boucher of Winchendon; a brother, Delbert Buckley of Swanzey, N.H.; four sisters, Arlene Richmond of Spofford, N.H., Norma Gillison of Port Chester, N.Y., Sandra Naquin of Washington and Gloria Perusse of VT.; eight grandchildren, Thomas C. Boucher, Tanya R. Boucher, Janelle L. Boucher, Paul Johnson, Terin Johnson, Taila Johnson, Brennan Johnson and Garrick Brewer, as well as several nephews and nieces. Betty was predeceased by her daughter, Pamela D. Boucher of Winchendon, who died in 2007; her great granddaughter, Jasmine Pamela Boucher of Winchendon, who also died last year; a brother, Harold L. Buckley, Jr. and a sister, Marilyn Funaioli. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 5th at 11 A.M. in the Cornerstone Church of the Assemblies of God, Gardner Road, Winchendon. The Rev. Barry Risto will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours will be held Friday, September 5th from 10 to 11 A.M. in the church, preceding the funeral.
