TEMPLETON - Elizabeth J. “Betty” Cwartkowski, 82, of 148 Rice Road, died unexpectedly at home Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
She was born in Winchendon on June 16, 1937, daughter of the late Harold and Emma (Rose) Lawrence and was a graduate of the former Templeton High School. Betty grew up on the family farm in Royalston and Templeton and lived in Templeton for most of her life.
Betty worked at New England Telephone Company and Digital until her retirement 45 years ago. She enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, bowling, trap shooting, fishing and painting. She also loved watching the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and NASCAR. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
Her husband of 44 years, Alexander “Skip” Cwartkowski Jr, died two years ago. She leaves three children, Dennis L’Homme and his wife Shirley of Templeton, Thomas J. L’Homme and his wife Jodi of Templeton and Theresa Casavecchia and her husband Steve of Templeton; a son-in-law Mark Hanks of Gardner; four grandchildren, Alex, Josh, Nicole and Paul; nine great grandchildren; a sister Joyce Moschetti of Templeton and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheryl Hanks and three brothers, Harold Lawrence, Richard Lawrence and William Lawrence.
Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. A funeral service will follow Sunday, September 15th at 2 P.M.
