TEMPLETON - Elizabeth M. "Betty" (Jacoby) Messier, 78, of 15 Memorial Street, Baldwinville, died unexpectedly Monday morning, August 17th, at her residence. She was born in Brookline, MA on April 28,1931, the daughter of the late Paul K. and Mary G. (McAuliff) Jacoby, and had lived in Baldwinville since 1958. Betty worked as a switchboard operator at Heywood Hospital in Gardner for the last 38 years. Many years ago, she worked as Assistant to the Principal at Baldwinville Elementary School. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and was a 1949 graduate of Murdock High School in Winchendon. Betty enjoyed reading but found her greatest enjoyment spending time with her family. She leaves her husband of 57 years, Alfred E. Messier; two daughters, Deborah E. Kimball and her husband Richard of Pepperell and Nancy J. Messier of Brewster; one brother, Paul K. Jacoby, Jr of Fitchburg; one sister, Janice E. Jacoby of Meriden, CT; two grandchildren, Sarah Kimball and Christopher Allard; one great granddaughter, Brianna Milliken and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brother, William P. Jacoby and a granddaughter, Amanda Allard. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 21st at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Friday, August 21st from 10 to 11 A.M., preceding the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Winchendon.
