Elizabeth M. (Sullivan) Murphy

WINTER PARK, FL. - Elizabeth M. (Sullivan) Murphy, 90, of 1620 Mayflower Court, Winter Park, Florida, died May 1st in the Mayflower Health Care Center, Winter Park, following an illness. She was born in Winchendon on February 18,1916, the daughter of John H. and Elizabeth M. (Flaherty) Sullivan and had resided in Winter Park for 40 years. Her husband of 49 years, Captain John J. "Pat" Murphy, U.S. Army retired, died in 1994. Elizabeth was a graduate of Murdock High School in Winchendon with the class of 1934, and Bay Path College in Springfield, MA. She was a communicant of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Winter Park, where a funeral mass was celebrated on May 5th. Elizabeth leaves a sister, Margaret Larsen of Port St. Lucie, Florida and a niece, Mary E. Fitzpatrick of Winchendon. She was predeceased by a brother, James Sullivan, a sister, Rita Fitzpatrick and two nephews, John and James Fitzpatrick. A committal service will be held Wednesday, May 10th at 11 A.M. in Calvary Cemetery, Winchendon. The Rev. Roland L. Gamache, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, will officiate.
