WINCHENDON - E. Marie (Montour) Raymond Miles, 81, of 65 Hyde Park Drive, Winchendon, died Tuesday, February 20th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following an illness. She was born in Winchendon on July 22,1925, the daughter of George W. and Esther R. (Langley) Montour, and was a lifelong resident here. Marie was a housekeeper and cook at Camelot before her retirement. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of both the Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion and the Lt. Frederick Wilder White Post 2158 Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was on the original committee to establish a municipal ambulance service in Winchendon. She was the wife of the late Roger B. Miles, who died in 1992. Marie leaves a son, Richard E. Raymond, Jr. of Winchendon; two daughters, Barbara R. Courtemanche of Old Orchard Beach, ME. and Gayle A. Hourihan of Winchendon; a stepson, David W. Miles of Lynn; two stepdaughters, Sandra M. Raymond of Winchendon and Judith E. Benedetto of Nashua, NH; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 23rd from the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street. Following cremation, burial will take place in Old Centre Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, February 22nd from 6 to 8 P.M.
