Emma A. (Larson) Aho

TEMPLETON - Emma A. (Larson) Aho, 96, of 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville, formerly of Fitchburg and Gardner, died Friday morning, May 28th in Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville. She was born in Worcester on January 4, 1914, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Ruutikainen) Larson and grew up in Templeton, graduating from the former Templeton High School. She lived in Fitchburg for many years until moving to Gardner, where she lived for 6 years. She moved to Baldwinville over a year ago. Emma worked for many years as a housekeeper for various families in Fitchburg. She enjoyed crocheting and made many afgans. She also enjoyed reading. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family. Her husband, Charles Aho, died in 1971. She leaves a nephew, John "Ted" Jacobson and his wife Patricia of Holden; two nieces, Linda Carlberg and her husband Paul of Gardner and Bettye H. McCrillis of Baldwinville and many grandnephews and grandnieces. She was also predeceased by four sisters, Helen Jacobson, Elizabeth Chaffin, Catherine Larson and Hilma Larson and three brothers, John C. Larson, Henry Larson and Edwin H. Larson. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 2nd at 12 Noon in Pine Grove Cemetery, Route 2A, Templeton. The Rev. Stephanie Flynn will officiate. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Baldwinville Nursing Home Resident's Activities Fund, PO Box 24, Baldwinville, MA. 01436.
