Erwin Klempner

GARDNER - Erwin Klempner, 69, of 91 Sawyer Street, Gardner, died peacefully Sunday morning, September 5th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner. He was born in Lichpenraumung, Poland on August 20, 1941, the son of the late Robert and Frieda (Rossol) Klempner, and had lived in Gardner since 1998. He had previously lived in Hubbardston. Erwin was a mechanical engineer for Thermo Fisher Scientific in Wilmington, where he had worked for 20 years. He was a 1960 graduate of Foxborough High School and had received an Associate's Degree from Wentworth Institute and a second Associate's Degree from Mt. Wachusett Community College in Gardner. Erwin had served in the Marine Corps Reserves. Erwin was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, where he had served as a lector, usher and as a member of its Church Council. He was also a member of the Hubbardston Lions Club. An outdoorsman, Erwin enjoyed skiing and fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family. He leaves three children, Wendy K. Chaney and her husband Thomas of Shaker Heights, OH, Adam R. Klempner and his wife Debra of Gardner and Angela L. Klempner of Hubbardston; a sister, Ingrid Carson and her husband Marty of Irmo, SC; two grandchildren, Forrest and Theodore Chaney; his fiance, Anne Marie Frawley of Gardner and one niece Heidi Solomon. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 9th at 11 A.M. in Faith Lutheran Church, 627 Green Street, Gardner. The Rev. Scott Grimshaw will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, September 8th from 6 to 8 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon and Thursday, September 9th from 10 to 11 A.M. in Faith Lutheran Church, preceding the funeral service.
