Ethel G. Easterbrooks

TEMPLETON - Ethel G. Easterbrooks, 82, of 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville, died peacefully Wednesday, July 16th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville. She was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on August 12,1925, the daughter of Clinton and Marion (Morton) Gale and was a long-time resident of Otter River, after moving from Baldwinville. Ethel was a devoted wife and loving mother, who found her greatest enjoyment to be spending time with her family. She was a long-time member of the Memorial Congregational Church in Baldwinville, where she was a member of its Ames-More Guild and Adult Fellowship. She was a former member of the Christian Education Committee and was a former Youth Group leader. Her husband of 54 years, Don E. Easterbrooks, Jr., whom she married on July 17,1946, died February 2,2001. She leaves four children, Don E. Easterbrooks, 3rd and his wife, Betsey E. of East Templeton, Judith I. Ryan and her husband Martin E. of Wells, Maine, Irene A. Peters and her husband John J. of Manchester, NH and Carol S. Wilcox and her husband Carlton K. of Athol; one sister, Helen Amadon and her husband, Stanley of Waterbury Center, VT.,; eight grandchildren, Ellen Braun, John Peters, 3rd, Amy Ryan, Don Easterbrooks, 4th, Todd Peters, Timothy Ryan, Jason Wilcox and Joseph Peters; 13 great grandchildren, one great great grandson and several nephews and nieces. One of thirteen children, Ethel was predeceased by her siblings, Bernard Gale, Lyle Gale, Clint Gale, Paul Gale, Charlie Gale, Delmar Gale, Marion Morin, Charlotte Watson, Arlene Desrosiers, Carol Ann Gale and Ruth Currier. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 19th at 11 A.M. in the Memorial Congregational Church, 4 Memorial Street, Baldwinville. The Rev. Robert Johansen and the Rev. Barb Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Calling hours in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon will be Friday, July 18th from 6 to 8 P.M.
