WINCHENDON – Eunice M. (Blake) Monette, 81, of 104 Ipswich Drive, died peacefully at her residence Thursday morning, July 2nd, with her family at her side.
She was born in Gardner on October 19, 1933, daughter of Allen and Ella (Holman) Wilson and graduated from Gardner High School. She had lived in Winchendon for over 50 years.
Eunice worked for many years as a pharmacy clerk and retired from Brooks Pharmacy. She was a member of Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and was the longest living member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Gardner. She was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan as well as a great fan of all of the New England professional sports teams. Eunice greatly enjoyed spending time with her family.
She leaves her husband of 63 years, Richard E. Monette; two children, Allen K. Monette and his wife Robin of Ashburnham and Lisa J. Cosentino and her husband Daniel of Royalston; a brother Gordon Blake of Brandon, VT, a sister Virginia Monette of Gardner, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Brian R. Monette, who died in 1974, and a brother, Roy Blake.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours.
