Evelyn Soderlund

GARDNER – Evelyn M. Soderlund, 88, of 19 Myrtle Road, Gardner, died peacefully at her residence Wednesday evening, January 12 th , with her family at her side.
She was born in Gardner of October 10, 1922, daughter of the late August and Signe (Alm) Soderlund and lived in Gardner for most of her life.
Evelyn retired at the age of 62 in 1985 from the United States Department of Defense, for whom she worked in Washington DC as an administrative assistant and secretary. She was last employed at Fort Devens. She graduated from Gardner High School in 1940 and attended Becker Junior College.
Evelyn was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, where she was an active member for many years. She was a former member of Pine Street Baptist Church.
She leaves several cousins and many church friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 17th at 11 A.M. in Bethany Baptist Church, 72 Ryan Street, Gardner. The Rev. Dan Meiners and the Rev. Edwin Lindquist will officiate.
Burial will be in Green Bower Cemetery at a later date.
Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Sunday, January 16th from 1 to 3 P.M.
