Evelyn E. (Hall) Montour
September 2, 1928 — February 2, 2009
WINCHENDON - Evelyn E. (Hall) Montour, 80, of 76 Highland Street, died peacefully Monday evening, February 2nd, at her residence.
She was born in Winchendon on September 2,1928, the daughter of Everett W. and Thera M. (Goddard) Hall and graduated from Murdock High School in 1945. Evelyn was a secretary at the former Brown Package Company and later at Putnam Chevrolet until her retirement at the age of 65. She was a member of the Mary Varnum Platts Chapter DAR in Rindge, NH. Her hobbies included reading, doing crossword puzzles and walking with her friends.
Her husband of 51 years, George W. Montour, died in 2000. She leaves a daughter, Sharon L. Montour, of Clayton, NC.; a sister, Lillian A. Diehl of Danvers; two grandchildren, Andrew Wilkinson and Frederick Wilkinson and his wife; great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A brother, Robert Hall and a sister, Phyllis M. Whitaker, predeceased her.
Graveside services will be held in the spring in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
