ACTON, ME – Francis A. Ouellette Sr, 84, of 89 Winchell Lane, Acton, ME, died peacefully at his residence Friday afternoon, August 9th, with his family at his side.
He was born in Fitchburg, MA on June 3, 1929, son of the late Alfred and Viola (Gaudet) Ouellette and grew up in Winchendon, MA, where he attended Winchendon schools..
Francis was a woodworker, who worked many years at the former LZ Kamman Co in Gardner, MA. He later worked at Harrington Richardson Co and Nichols and Stone Furniture Co. Following his retirement, he moved to Sanford and Acton, ME. During the Korean War, he proudly served his country as a radio operator in the United States Army. His hobbies included camping, playing horseshoes, playing cards, carpentry projects and reading.
He leaves his wife, Beverly (Dailey) Ouellette; four children, Alfred Perry and his companion Sandy Zibkowski of Fulton, NY, Francis A. Ouellette Jr and his wife Cheryle of East Templeton, MA, Lisa Griffin and her husband Gary of Gardner, MA and Kelly Smith and her husband Darin of Acton, ME; four grandchildren, Krystle Ouellette of Long Beach, CA, Zachary Wojdak of Gardner, MA, Angela Wojdak of Gardner, MA and Chelsea Smith of Acton, ME and nephews and nieces.
Military funeral services will be held Friday, August 16th at 1 PM in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate.
There are no calling hours.
At the request of the family, flowers are to be omitted.
