Gary A. Laraba

WINCHENDON – Gary A. Laraba, 65, of 29 Maynard Street, died peacefully Monday evening, September 5 th in Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation, Westborough, with his family at his side.

He was born in Enosburg Falls, VT on December 1, 1945, son of the late John H. and Barbara C. (Lavalla) Laraba and had lived in Winchendon for 38 years.

Gary was an automobile mechanic for most of life and had worked at the former Stanley’s Chevrolet in Gardner for many years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, trapping, hunting, canoeing and just walking through the woods. He also enjoyed genealogy but found his greatest enjoyment from spending time with this family. Gary was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

He leaves his wife of 42 years, Eva A. (Mackin) Laraba; seven children, Tammy M. St. Pierre and her husband Terry of Winchendon, Shari L. Anctil and her husband Marc of Winchendon, Wayne M. Laraba of Winchendon, George D. Laraba of Winchendon, Kenneth J. Laraba of Winchendon, Matthew A. Laraba and his wife Justina of Winchendon and Christine Northcutt of Tennessee; his sisters and brothers, Sandra Goguen of Gardner, David Laraba of Fitzwilliam, NH, Stephen Laraba and his wife Gail of Winchendon, Sheila Marion of Gardner and Sue Hanks of Winchendon; twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren, thirteen nieces and nephews and his aunts and uncles, Henry and Velma Larose of Leominster and Kenneth and Suzanne Lavalla of Richford, VT. A daughter, Wendy J. Laraba, predeceased him.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 10th from Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, September 9 th from 6 to 8 P.M.
