ASHBURNHAM - Gary L. Gaunt, 68, of 7 Puffer Street, Ashburnham, died peacefully at his residence Monday morning, August 17th. He was born in Bancroft, Iowa on July 21,1941, the son of the late Otto W. and Aileen E. (Adams) Gaunt and had lived in Ashburnham for 43 years. Gary worked for many years in the shipping department at Chem Design Corporation in Fitchburg until his retirement in December, 2001. Gary enjoyed golf and was a member of the Winchendon Seniors League and was a former member of Winchendon Country Club. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and took a great interest in his grandchildren's athletic activities. Gary was a loyal New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. He especially enjoyed family vacations on Lake Winnipesaukee. Gary proudly served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. He leaves his wife of 47 years, Anita L. (Lehtinen) Gaunt; one son, Jim M. Gaunt and his wife Wendy of Winchendon; two daughters, Pamela A. Duplease and her husband Donald of Winchendon and Sheila M. Ladeau and her husband Brian of Baldwinville; one sister, Marcia V. Sedlak of Parma, Ohio; six grandchildren, Cory Duplease, Kyle Duplease, Todd Ladeau, Brad Ladeau, Hannah Gaunt and Lauren Gaunt, as well as many nephews, nieces and dear friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 21st at 1 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Brenda L. Casavoy will officiate. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Thursday, August 20th from 6 to 8 P.M.
