WINCHENDON – George D. Cordray, Jr, 69, of 505 Mellen Road, died peacefully at his residence Monday morning, September 14, 2020 with his wife at his side.
He was born in Newport News, VA on November 26, 1950, son of the late George D. and Joan (Fischer) Cordray and moved to Colorado at the age of 13. He later moved to Massachusetts and had been a resident of Winchendon for 20 years.
George proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He had worked at Grason-Stadler Electronics for many years until his retirement.
His hobbies included fresh water fishing, woodworking and doing odd jobs for people.
He leaves his wife of 19 years, Renate (McElheney) Cordray; two sons, Justin Cordray and Brandon Cordray of Leominster; a stepdaughter Melissa Rock of Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters, Yvonne Hamby of Price, UT, Brenda Tomlinson of East Carven, UT and Edna Surrells of Pleasant Cove, UT and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Antoinette Cordray, predeceased him.
Military funeral services will be held Friday, September 18, 2020 at 11 A.M. in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
There are no calling hours.
