George J. Raimon

WINCHENDON - George J. Raimon, 78, of 36 Phyllis Road, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully at home Friday evening, April 28, 2017, with his family at his side.

He was born in Fitchburg on November 15, 1938, son of the late Walter and Cecile (White) Raimon and was a 1958 graduate of Fitchburg High School.

George was employed for 46 years at the former Fitchburg Paper as a roll finisher until his retirement.  He lived in Gardner for many years and moved to Winchendon six years ago.  He enjoyed following sports and his two favorite teams were the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.  His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Mildred R. (Bergeron) Raimon; four children, George Raimon and his wife Suzanne of Westminster, Francis Raimon and his wife Robin of Gardner, Timothy Raimon and his wife Jennifer of Shirley and Susan Rocheleau and her husband Norman of Winchendon; a brother, Walter Raimon of Vineyard Haven; a sister, Margaret Emma of Fitchburg; twelve grandchildren, Kristopher, Shawn, David, Molly, Joey, Miranda, Matthew, Cassey, Ryan, Jordan, Gage and Jacob; two great grandchildren, Elinor and Grace and many nieces and nephews.  A brother, Donald Raimon and a sister, Jean LeBlanc, predeceased him.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street.

Calling hours in the funeral home will be Monday, May 1, 2017 from 5 to 7 P.M.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
