SWANZEY, NH – Geralda M. (Desmarais) Richard, 83, of 57 Homestead Avenue, Swanzey, died peacefully, Monday, January 9th in Genesis Nursing Home, Keene, NH.
She was born in Troy, NH on April 20, 1928, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hormidas Desmarais, and was a resident of Swanzey for several years. She previously lived in Troy, NH and Florida.
Geralda was registered nurse and graduated from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. She was a former director of nursing for three nursing homes in Keene. During the last month of her life, her family was at her side, celebrating her life with her.
She was dearly loved by her husband of 61 years, Leo J. Richard; a daughter, Lana Adamson and her husband Michael of Swanzey, NH; a son, Stephen Leo Richard and his wife Janice of Manchester, NH; six grandchildren, Alexander, Anthony, Gabriel, Jeremy, Benjamin and Megan and her ten great grandchildren, Nicole, Jessica, Abigail, Hunter, Jeremy Jr, Natasha, Kaiya, Addison, Dawson and Ella; two sisters, Joyce Rouleau of Cape Cod and the late Lorraine Beauregard; two nephews, David Rouleau and Douglas Beauregard and a niece, Cheryl Beauregard .
There are no calling hours.
Services for Geralda will be at a later time in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon, where she and her husband will be reunited as a loving couple.
