Hannelore Maria Hand

WINCHENDON – Hannelore Maria (Göpfrich) Hand, 84, of Winchendon, died peacefully Sunday evening, December 4, 2022 in Alliance Health at Baldwinville, with her family at her side.

She was born in Mannheim, Germany on February 6, 1938, daughter of the late Friedrich and Maria W. (Grable) Göpfrich and was a resident of Winchendon for most of her life.

Hannelore had worked as a store manager at AAFES (Army and Air Force Exchange Service) as a store manager at Fort Devens, Hanscom Air Force Base and Schweinfurt, Germany for many years until her retirement.  She was an avid fan of NASCAR, New England Patriots, and Boston Red Sox.  She especially treasured time with her family.

She leaves her son David M. Howard Jr. of Westminster; a daughter, Crystal A. Duchesne and her husband Rob of Winchendon; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and her former husband and lifelong friend David M. Howard Sr.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Mark J. Howard and Kenneth Howard and her brother, Hans Göpfrich.

Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Monday, December 19, 2022 from 2 to 4 P.M.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
