TEMPLETON – Harry L. McCormack, 81, of 25 Brooks Village Road, Templeton, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully Friday morning, December 10 th , at his residence.

He was born in Beverly, MA on January 4, 1929, the son of the late Keith and Lila E. (Smith) McCormack and had lived in Gardner for many years until moving to Templeton three years ago.

Harry was a retired district executive for Nashua Valley Council Boy Scouts of America. After leaving his position as a scouting executive, Harry worked at George Bent Furniture Company, Mohawk Wire in Leominster and then worked for several years for Data Guide Wire Company in Gardner until his retirement at the age of 73.

Harry was a 1948 graduate of Beverly High School and in 1959 received his Masters Degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Private First Class. He was a member of Ovila Case Post 905 VFW and the American Legion in Gardner. Harry was a former member of First Baptist Church in Gardner and was a member of First Congregational Church in North Leominster. Harry enjoyed classical music and especially loved spending time with his family.

His wife of 52 years, Betty M. (Murray) McCormack, predeceased him in 2005. He leaves three children, Stuart K. McCormack, Linda G. McCormack of Westminster and Susan A. McCormack of Templeton, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 16 th at 10 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Robert Johansen will officiate.

There are no calling hours.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
