TEMPLETON - Hazel E. (Jones) Case, 92, of 28 Baker Lane, died peacefully Friday morning, October 17th, at the home of her son, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Baldwinville on February 18,1916, the daughter of the later Walter and Amy (Close) Jones and lived in Templeton for most of her life. Hazel was a 1933 graduate of the former Templeton High School and was also a graduate of the former Gardner State Hospital School of Nursing. She was a licensed practical nurse at the former Gardner State Hospital from 1953 until her retirement in 1975. Hazel was a member of the East Templeton United Methodist Church and was a member of Jessamine Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Gardner. In 1967, she served as Worthy Matron. Hazel enjoyed crocheting, knitting, tatting and doing crossword puzzles. She was an avid Boston Celtics fan and she loved to travel. Hazel had visited every state in the continental United States. Her husband of 49 years, Clifford H. Case, died in 1985. She leaves four children, Roberta H. Wilder and her husband George H. of East Templeton, Beverly A. Stanley and her husband Richard C. of Templeton, Nancy M. Swartz of Baldwinville and Kenneth C. Case and his wife Betty M. of Templeton; 15 grandchildren, Clifford Wilder, Robert Wilder, Amy Duplessis, Linda Gullage, Ronald Winslow, Michael Winslow, Brenda Comeau, Kathy Banas, Kevin Swartz, Janice Hamel, Brian Swartz, Shannon Case, Amanda Case, Crystal Gallant and Shawn Case; 18 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Hazel was predeceased by her first child, Walter Case, who died in 1937, a brother, Elwin Jones and a sister, Mildred Jones. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20th at 11:30 A.M. in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Charles Page will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Baldwinville. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Sunday, October 19th from 6 to 8 P.M. with Eastern Star services at 7 P.M.
