Hazel F. (Gordon) Wolski

WINCHENDON - Hazel F. (Gordon) Wolski, 80, of Fitchburg and formerly of Winchendon, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon, June 23rd, in The Highlands, Fitchburg. She was born in Fitzwilliam, N.H. on March 8,1929, the daughter of the late Clarence and Elvia (Devoid) Gordon and lived in Winchendon for many years before moving to Leominster and then to Fitchburg. Hazel traveled for 26 years with her late husband, Steven W. Wolski Sr., who had been in the military. A very loving person, Hazel found her greatest enjoyment spending time with her family. She was a nurses' aid for several years and retired from C.R. Bard Co. in Fitzwilliam, N.H., where she worked for many years. She leaves four children, Virginia L. "Ginger" Gammel and her husband Mike of Ashburnham, Anthony E. "Tony" Wolski and his wife Nancy of Winchendon, Shirley M. Araujo and her husband Bryon of Fitchburg and Patricia I. "Patty" Adams of Lunenburg; four sisters, Lillian White of Petersham, Pauline Rouleau of Winchendon, Doris Goodwin of Fitzwilliam and Ruth Blair of Rindge; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband, who died in 1978, she was predeceased by three children, Wayne A. Wolski, who died in 1954, Steven W. Wolski Jr., who died in 2003 and Susan J. LaPlante, who died in 2001; two sisters, Gladys Saraco and Hattie Sawyer and two brothers, Joseph Gordon and Leon Gordon. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 26th at 11 A.M. in the Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Thursday, June 25th from 6 to 8 P.M.
