TEMPLETON – Helen T. (Muznicki) Cormier Van Duyne, 95, of 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville, formerly of Gardner, died Tuesday evening, April 1st in Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville, with her family at her side.
She was born in Gardner on January 20, 1919, daughter of the late Adam and Mary (Dzieniesienka) Muznicki. Helen grew up in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School.
Helen worked at the former Heywood Wakefield Co. and in various Gardner shoe factories. She had also worked as a waitress. Many years ago, Helen moved to Florida. In 2007, she returned to this area. A former member of St. Josephs Church, where she sang in its choir, Helen enjoyed playing the violin, sewing and knitting.
Her first husband, Adolph Cormier, predeceased her in 1975 and her second husband, George A. Van Duyne, predeceased her in 2007. She leaves two daughters, Patricia A. LeBlanc of Winchendon and Nancy Toolin of Marstons Mills; seven grandchildren, Harold Covey, William Covey, Lica Theriault, John Covey, Michelle LeBlanc, Lauren Toolin and Neile Toolin; 17 great grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Two sisters, Mildred Gabis and Anna Buja, as well as a nephew Stanley Gabis and a niece, Theresa Gabis, predeceased her.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date.
Memorial donations may be left at the funeral home.
