LEOMINSTER - Henry A. Fredette, 97, died on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Life Care Center of Leominster.
He was born in Fitchburg on August 31, 1920 to Albertine (Bernatchez) and Arthur J. Fredette.
He leaves a daughter, Jean Bloom of Florida; a son, William Fredette of Ohio; a grandchild, Monica; his great grandchildren; his brother, Normand & his wife, Sheila Fredette of Fitchburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Jean Murray-Fredette; his sisters, Blanche Spano and Irene Clouthier; and his brother, Arthur Fredette.
Henry was a well read man and an accomplished businessman. He was a Real Estate Developer, having built Parkhill Plaza and surrounding neighborhoods in the Cleghorn section of Fitchburg, as well as beachfront property at Wyman's Pond in Westminster. He was involved in history and politics and was a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1972. He served as Chair of the Fitchburg Bi-Centennial and he also designed commemorative flags for our nation's Bi-Centennial and for Desert Storm. Henry collected postcards and created prints of historic sites that were displayed in many businesses in Fitchburg, Winchendon, and surrounding towns.
Henry proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II. He was a member of the Third Photo Mapping Squadron and the First Photo Charting Group.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 4 at 10:00 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce St., Winchendon. Burial, with military honors will follow at 11:00 A.M. in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
