LUNENBURG – Henry F. Willard, 90, of 43 Pratt Street, died peacefully Monday evening, August 4th in Sterling Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sterling.

He was born in Jamaica Plain, MA on June 18, 1924, son of the late John A. and Bertha (Baker) Willard and grew up in Fitchburg.  Since 1957, he had been a resident of Lunenburg.  During World War Two, Henry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy as an Aviation Machinist’s Mate Second Class.

Henry worked for many years for National Cash Register Co in Fitchburg as its service manager.  He later worked for Champa Realty, and for MCM Furniture until his retirement.  An avid hunter and fisherman in his early years, Henry was a member of Lunenburg Sportsmen’s Club.  He also enjoyed playing golf.  His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.  He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Leominster.

His wife of 60 years, Regina M. (Uzialko) Willard, died in 2010.  He leaves three children and their spouses, Christine (Michael) Rinaldi of Troy, NY, Steven (Brenda) Willard of Ashby, and Karen (Clarence) Cormier of Lunenburg, six grandchildren and one great-grandson.  A sister, Marion Leger, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 11th at 10:00 AM in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.  Burial, with military honors, will follow in Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.  There are no calling hours.    The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Susan and Michael Veilleux, for their compassionate care of our father and grandfather, during his illness.
