BARRE: Henry J. Lavigne, 81, of 140 Hancock Road, Barre, a former long time resident of Templeton, died Friday, May 9th in UMASS Memorial Hospital, 119 Belmont Street, Worcester.
He was born in Lawrence on February 15, 1933, son of the late Joseph Henry and Ella A. (Will) Lavigne and had lived at the Templeton Developmental Center, Baldwinville for many years until moving to Barre two years ago.
While living at Templeton Developmental Center, Henry worked at its laundry. A quiet man, Henry enjoyed western and cowboy movies, as well as eating cheeseburgers and hamburgers. Since moving to Barre, Henry enjoyed attending the Gardner VNA day program, where he had made many friends. He leaves several friends, consisting of his fellow residents and counselors.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 15th at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate.
A calling hour from 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday will precede the funeral service.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton.
