Henry R. May

WINCHENDON - Henry R. May, 94, formerly of 11 Brooks Road, died Monday, June 19th in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner. He was born in Oakland, CA. on May 7,1912, the son of Charles P. and Salome (Brouillette) May and was a resident of Winchendon for most of his life. Henry had been a mason tender at Madonia Construction Company in Fitchburg and was a former co-owner of C.P. May & Sons Lumber Co. in Winchendon. He was a life member of the Winchendon Rod and Gun Club. An avid outdoorsman, he loved gardening, and enjoyed splitting wood and taking walks on his property. His wife of 69 years, Georgianna E. (Sweeney) May, died in 2004. He leaves 5 sons, Henry R. May Jr of Claremor, OK., Nelson D. May of Baldwinville, Kenneth J. May of Saratoga, NY, Gordon F. "Gabba" May of Bradenton, FL and Bruce E. May of Leominster; a brother, Nelson T. May of Winchendon; a sister, Madeline B. Higgins of Winchendon, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. His funeral will be held Friday, June 23rd from the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street.
