WINCHENDON - Henry W. Blodgett, 78, of 9 Hyde Street, Winchendon, died peacefully Tuesday evening, July 22nd in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, after a short illness. He was born in Haverhill on July 14,1930, the son of Henry W. and Harriett J. (Woodman) Blodgett and had lived in Winchendon since 1961, after moving from Haverhill. Hank had been a sprayer at Harrington & Richardson Co. in Gardner for several years. He was a Korean War veteran, serving as a Private in the United States Army from 1950 to 1953. He was a member of Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion. Hank enjoyed watching wrestling and his hobbies included playing pool, bowling, gardening and hunting pheasants. He leaves his wife of 43 years, Olive G. (Hustus) Blodgett; four children, Deborah J. Chalke of North Carolina, April L. Boerstler of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Cynthia Ann Harrington of Winchendon and Raymond W. Blodgett of Haverhill, as well as nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
