ASHBURNHAM – Isabell (Beaton) Allen, 90, of Ashburnham and formerly of Quincy and Braintree, died peacefully Wednesday morning, February 23, 2022 in Pope Nursing Home, Weymouth, with her family at her side.
She was born in Boston on May 28,1931 daughter of the late Roland and Annie Jane Beaton.
She graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School in Boston. A woman of very strong Christian faith, Isabell was a devoted member of Fort Square Church of Quincy and Peoples Church in Ashburnham. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family. She was devoted to caring for her family especially for her 11 grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting and hosting family gatherings. Her beautiful spirit of love and generosity will be cherished and missed by all who loved her.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Lloyd of 70 years. She is survived by her five children, Jane Allen and partner Tom Vecchione of Quincy, Lloyd Allen of Pompano Beach, FL, Donna Carrera and husband Eric of Milton, Nancy Gavaza and husband Dave of Marshfield and Dan Allen and wife Christy of Ashburnham; grandchildren, Jen and Jeff, Jessica, Rebecca, Rachel and Mark, Eliza and Dustin, Suzanne, Jonathan, Matt and Makayla, Peter, Bella, Caleb; great grandchildren, Lola, Zia, Madeleine, Maxton and Arthur, as well as her nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth Furbish.
Calling hours will be held in Fort Square Presbyterian Church, 16 Pleasant Street, Quincy on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 10 to 11 A.M. followed by a funeral service at 11 A.M.
Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
Donations can be made in her name to the Peoples Church Food Pantry in Ashburnham, MA or to the Parkinson’s Foundation in lieu of flowers.
