WINCHENDON – Ivan R. Hackett, 65, of 20 Phyllis Road, died peacefully Wednesday morning, October 21, 2020 at his residence, with his family at his side.
He was born in Randolph, Vermont, son of the late Lewis and Irene (Lacount) Hackett, grew up in Winchendon, where he lived for most of his life. Ivan was a graduate of Murdock High School Class of 1973. Following high school, he entered the United States Army and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Ivan worked 30 years as union laborer for Local #39 until his retirement. He was a member of Eugene M. Connor Post #373 American Legion and enjoyed going for long walks and watching western movies. He was a dog and animal lover.
He leaves his wife of 38 years, Tammie E. (Pelto) Hackett; three children, Tracy Samuels and her husband Jay of Otter River, Troy I. Hackett of Winchendon and Brandi Jalbert and her husband Jared of Ashburnham; two grandchildren, Alan and Kathy; his brothers and sisters, Keith A. Hackett and his wife Sharon of Gardner, Rebecca L. Habicht and her husband Riho of Gardner, Lewis J. Hackett Jr of Middlebury, VT and Nina L. Hackett of Lumberton, NC and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene M. Campbell, Sylvia V. Kallel and Jeanne E. Thompson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 1 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Burial will follow in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery.

Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday, October 26, 2020 from 5 to 7 P.M. Members of Eugene M. Connor Post will conduct military honors at 6:30 P.M.
