James A. Roberts

CLINTON - James A. Roberts, 56, of 25 Birch Street, Clinton, died Tuesday, January 12th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont Street, Worcester. He was born in Brockton on June 2,1953, the son of the late Madelene A. (Varga) Roberts and Paul V. Roberts of Concord, MA., and had lived in Clinton for ten years, moving from Hudson, MA.. Jim was a licensed mental health counselor and worked as a rehabilitation counselor for Community Health Link for many years. He grew up in Lexington and Concord and graduated from Concord Carlisle High School in 1971. Jim also graduated from Boston University and received his MA- CAGS Degree from Assumption College. Jim proudly served in the United States Navy from 1977 to 1979. He was a member of Marlboro Lodge of Masons and Adoniram Council R&S Masons in Concord. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans. Jim enjoyed collecting military antiques and making reproductions of them. He was also a history buff. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family. In addition to his father, he leaves his wife of 24 years, Nancy R. (Brown) Roberts; two children, James A. Roberts and Abigail H. Roberts of Clinton and a brother Paul Roberts. A sister, Carol Donovan, predeceased him. Military funeral services will be held Friday, January 15th at 1 P.M. in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. A memorial service will follow at 3 P.M. in Shaarei Zedeck, 105 Water Street, Clinton. Following the memorial service, there will be refreshments at 90 Haskell Avenue, Clinton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the James A. Roberts Children's Education Fund, care of Clinton Savings Bank, 200 Church Street, Clinton, MA. 01510.
