Jim was a Rotarian, humanitarian, an entrepreneur and friend to all. He was a lover of animals, roses, lawns, a good barbeque with friends and family (chicken of course!), lakes, oceans and especially his Western Florida sunsets.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan (née Pickering) Friedgen of Bonita Springs, FL; his loving children, Debra (David) Hartwell of Lancaster, MA, Kimberly Friedgen (Charles Fuller) of Andover, CT and Jeff (Elizabeth) Friedgen of Dunstable, MA; stepsons, Travis (Kerstin Oh) Howe of Reading, MA and John Howe (Ellen Berry) of Marblehead, MA; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, four nieces, three nephews, many friends and his loving cat ‘Sneakers’.

Services will be held in Massachusetts and burial with military honors will take place at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.

Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home and Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home of Winchendon Massachusetts.
