BOSTON – James M. Reilly, 64, of 17 Court Street, Boston, died Friday January 6th in the Brockton VA Medical Center.
Jim was born in Lowell on November 6, 1947, son of the late William E. and Helen E. (Wolfgang) Reilly. He grew up in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School in 1966 and was active in the Lowell Golden Gloves. He later graduated from Lowell University, earning a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He served in the United States Navy and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. In his most recent years, Jim worked as a counselor in the Billerica House of Correction. In his free time, he was an avid reader and loved sports and working out
He leaves two children, Michael Reilly of Syracuse, NY and Katherine Boegel of Sandwich, MA; a brother, William Reilly and his wife Carole of Pelham, NH and their daughter Christine Reilly of Haverhill, MA; a sister, Mary Reilly of Somerville, MA, and also a lifelong friend, Bob Toohey of Kingman, AZ.
Military funeral services will be held Thursday, January 19th at 1 PM in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA.
There are no calling hours. A memorial mass will be held Friday, January 20th at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Brockton VA Medical Center.
