James R. Braun, Sr.

RINDGE, NH - James R. Braun, Sr., 39, of 70 LaChance Drive, Rindge, NH, formerly of Templeton, died unexpectedly last week in Winchendon. He was born in Worcester, MA. on March 10,1969, the son of George Braun of Baldwinville and late Nancy (Collamore) Braun, and lived in Templeton for most of his life, until moving to Rindge two years ago. He was a 1987 graduate of Narragansett Regional High School, where he played basketball, football, track and starred in baseball. He threw a no-hitter and perfect game on its baseball team, which went on to be District Champs. Jim furthered his education, obtaining his Associates Degree from Mt. Wachusett Community College and attended Bentley College. Jim was a systems analyst and manager at Bigband Networks in Westborough, and had previously worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance in Boston and EMC Corporation in Westborough. He loved working with computers and self-taught himself many of its programs. Jim was a member of the Snowbound Club in Winchendon, where he was a member of its Dart Team. Jim coached both of his sons in little league in Templeton for five years and took his team to the league championship finals five times, winning three of them. Jim was a sports enthusiast, following all of the New England professional sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox. He was a certified PADI scuba diver and had worked as a life guard at Greenwood Pool in Gardner many years ago. Jim also enjoyed playing darts, fishing, horseshoes, golf and playing pool. He loved living on Lake Monomonac but got his greatest enjoyment from spending time with his family. In addition to his father, he leaves his wife of 20 years, Ellen L. (Easterbrooks) Braun; a son, Seth F. Braun; a grandson, James R. Braun 3rd of Phillipston; a brother, Kevin Braun and his wife Christine of Orange; three sisters, Kim Rad of Worcester, Karen Boudreau and her husband Michael of Gardner and Kelley Ziemke and her husband Todd of Otter River, numerous nephews and nieces and his beloved dog, Daisy. A son, James R. Braun, Jr., died in February of this year. Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 23rd at 7 P.M. in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. A reception for family and friends will follow the service at the Snowbound Club, Old Baldwinville Road, Winchendon. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Thursday, October 23rd from 4 to 7 P.M.
