MURPHY, NC – Jane P. (Fitzpatrick) Holohan, 94, of Murphy, NC, and a former longtime resident of Winchendon, died Tuesday evening, December 25, 2018 in Hayesville House Assisted Living, Hayesville, NC with her family at her side.
She was born in Helena, Arkansas, daughter of the late James B. and Mary L. (Slane) Fitzpatrick and was a 1940 of Sacred Heart Academy. Many years ago, she lived in Groton. Jane was a resident of Winchendon from 1976 until moving to NC in 2009.
Jane had worked many years ago in deli at the former IGA Supermarket in Winchendon. She later owned and operated the former Donut Shop in Winchendon for over twenty years. She was a former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Her hobbies were crocheting and poetry. Jane had published a book of poems and memories “Over The Backyard Fence.” She was fondly remembered as the poet laureate of Winchendon.
Her husband, Paul W. Holohan, died in 1984. She leaves five children, Rev. Joseph Grenier of Milford, NH, David Grenier of Tappahannock, VA, George Grenier of Still River, MA, John Grenier of Murphy, NC and Joan Pusey of Murphy, NC; a brother James B. Fitzpatrick Jr of Port Arthur, TX; eight grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Armand Grenier, who died in 1974 and a sister, Mary Katherine McCart.
Funeral services will he held Friday, July 26, 2019 at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.
Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
