TEMPLETON: Janet E. (Batchelor) Pervier, 88, formerly of East Templeton, died peacefully Thursday morning, August 8th, in Baldwinville Nursing Home, with her family at her side.
She was born in Waterbury, CT on May 20, 1925, daughter of the late Herbert M. and Charlotte A. (Friedhoff) Batchelor. Janet lived in East Templeton for 35 years before moving to Ormond Beach, FL, where she lived for ten years. Three years ago, she returned to this area and lived in Winchendon for two years before moving to Baldwinville earlier this year.
Janet had worked at East Templeton Elementary School as its cafeteria manager for 16 years until her retirement. She previously had worked as an office secretary at the former Heywood Wakefield Furniture Co and at Simplex Time Recorder as a typing pool supervisor. She was a member of Chestnut Street United Methodist Church and was also affiliated with Riverview United Methodist Church in Ormond Beach, FL.
Active in civic, fraternal and church groups, Janet was a member of Jessamine Chapter Order of Eastern Star #75 in Gardner, Eastern Star Chapter #296 in Ormond Beach, FL, and was a former member of Templeton Woman’s Club, Greater Gardner Business and Professional Woman’s Club, UMW of Chestnut Street United Methodist Church, past president of American Legion Auxiliary Post #373 in Baldwinville and Ormond Beach Senior Citizens Club.
Her husband, Richard E.R. Pervier, died in 2001. She leaves four children, Sandra McFaul and her companion Joseph Jaillet of Ashburnham, Nancy Heglin of Fitzwilliam, NH, Richard H. Pervier and his wife Sheila of East Templeton and Donald R. Pervier and his wife Kathy of East Templeton; seven grandchildren, Tammi McFaul, Darcy Bastarache, Jessica Leventry, Amanda Heglin, Kira Pervier, Brandon Pervier and Kimberly Pervier and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 12th at 10 A.M. in Chestnut Street United Methodist Church, 161 Chestnut Street, Gardner. The Rev. Calvin Carpenter will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton.
Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Sunday, August 11th from 6 to 8 P.M. Members of Jessamine Chapter #75 Order of Eastern Star will conduct services at 7 P.M.
