Jean (Bunnie) Stockwell, 94, of Gardner, formerly of Lunenburg
Bunnie Stockwell, 94, a former longtime resident of Lunenburg and Pepperell died Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner MA, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Stockwell was born in Springfield, April 21, 1927, daughter of Arthur H. and Elinore (Engman) Lamy and resided much of her life in Lunenburg before moving to Gardner 11 years ago.
She is survived by her son, Edward A. Stockwell and wife Theresa of Fruitland Park, FL; Son Larry A. Stockwell of West Palm Beach, FL; and brother, Arthur H. Lamy Jr. of Berlin, MA.
She is pre-deceased by her husband, Robert (Bob) in 2010 and her son Dennis in 1972.
She co-owned and operated Bob's Greenhouse in Lunenburg and many years ago had worked at the former Hawbuck Orchards in Harvard.
Bunnie enjoyed working along-side her husband Bob, growing strawberries and tomatoes and taking out mule-drawn hayrides. She was fond of the many horses and dogs they had through the years.
They were avid card players. They played with friends and neighbors on a regular basis.
Bunnie really enjoyed camping with Bob. When they sold the greenhouse business and moved out of Lunenburg, they bought a motor home and finally took that trip around the country they had been talking about. They also enjoyed their time at the campground up at Swanzey Lake, making the trip from Pepperell every weekend during the summers for many years.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at South Cemetery, Lunenburg. There are no calling hours.
