TEMPLETON – Jean A. (Warren) Hearns, 67, of Templeton, died peacefully Saturday morning, June 28th in UMASS Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Worcester on January 3, 1947, daughter of the late Lillian G.Warren Power. She grew up and lived in Worcester for many years and graduated from Commerce High School. For the last 21 years, she lived in Templeton.
Jean worked for 20 years at Worcester City Hospital in the Central Sterilization Room and later at Memorial Hospital in its Purchasing Department until her retirement. She was a member of Holy Cross Church and was a very active member of Templeton Lions Club, participating in all of its functions. Jean was active in town affairs, serving on the Planning Board Committee, Zoning Board of Appeals and was a volunteer at the voting polls. She and her late husband Ed enjoyed traveling in this country and overseas. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at UMASS Medical Center for their extraordinary efforts and care.
Her husband of 23 years, Edward F. Hearns, died in 2011. She leaves two daughters, Karen Rolfe and her husband Martin of Paxton and Mary Cicero of Cherry Valley, MA; a brother, Francis Power and his wife Linda of Worcester; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. She also leaves her two dogs “her boys” Brady and Benji.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11 A.M. in Holy Cross Church, Lake Avenue, East Templeton. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private.
