Jeannette Marie Roy, a lifelong resident of Winchendon, Massachusetts, was born on June 17, 1926, and peacefully departed this world on May 2, 2024.
She was the cherished daughter of the late William and Gertrude Marquis. Jeannette was a stalwart figure in her family and community, working diligently in the ice cream freezer manufacturing industry before her well-earned retirement. She carried her strong work ethic into every facet of her life, embodying the adage, "A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work."
Jeannette is survived by her loving children: Philip Roy and his wife Elaine, Gail Paradise and her husband Robert: six grandchildren; Richard Roy and his wife Kelly, Christine Kilgore and her husband Ian, Geoffrey Long and his wife Sara, Matthew Long, Adam Long, Michael Paradise and his wife Jenna; her great-grandchildren; a special niece Lynn Ruschioni, and nephew, Wayne Cochran, and many other nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her daughter Ann Long, and her siblings, Walter Marquis, Lillian Diotalevi Phyllis Morris, Shirley Cochran, William Marquis, Jr, Alfred Marquis, Carol Richards, and Elizabeth Martin. Her legacy of strength, resilience, and love continues to live on in them. In her personal life, Jeannette was known for her kindness, her good sense of humor, and her ability to make the best out of any situation. She was a woman of great integrity and honor, a shining example of what it means to live a life of purpose and meaning.
