Jeannette R. Mullen Jeffers

WINCHENDON - Jeannette R. (Bernard) Mullen Jeffers, 95, of 26 Chestnut Street, Winchendon, died early Tuesday, February 6th in her residence., following an illness. She was born in Winchendon on August 17,1911, the daughter of Ernest and Mary E. (Berard) Bernard and was a lifelong resident. Jeannette was the wife of the late Emmett T. Jeffers, who died in 1993. Her first husband of 51 years, Francis H. Mullen, died in 1985. She owned and operated Bernard's French Shoppe in Lexington for many years. She formerly had a store in Winchendon and the original store was in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. Jeannette was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, was a member of the former Winchendon Womens Club and was a former member of the Winchendon Garden Club and Winchendon Historical Society. She was a graduate of Murdock High School. She enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble and reading. Jeannette leaves two daughters, Constance J. Christmas of Lynnfield and Gail A. Mullen-Mitchell of Winchendon; a sister, Leonore M. Mathieu of Westborough; four grandsons, Bertram, James and Jason Christmas and Donald Murray. She also leaves a great grandson, Clayton F. Murray, and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 9th from the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, February 8th from 6 to 8 P.M.
