Jeremy L.J. Hanshaw

ATHOL - Jeremy Lawrence John Hanshaw, 23, of Athol, Ma. passed unexpectedly on Friday December 23, 2016 at 11:50am surrounded by family after being struck by a truck in Athol on Wednesday December 21, 2016.

Jeremy was born in Worcester, MA on July 5, 1993. He leaves his Mother and Father Lawrence and Elizabeth Hanshaw Jr, Brother Nathan Hanshaw and Grandmother Sandra Hanshaw.  As well as several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, Closest Aunts Anne Hanshaw & Sandra Hanshaw Bezio and Uncle Richard Bezio, Closest Cousins Lisa Bezio and Lawrence Hanshaw and on his mother's side, his uncle Thaddeus J. Luszey and cousin Thaddeus J. Gertsen. He was predeceased by his grandparents Lawrence Hanshaw and Thaddeus and Elizabeth Luszey.

Jeremy received his G.E.D in 2011 from Greenfield Community College and had certifications in C.P.R., Auto Detailing, and was OSHA certified. He spent almost 2 years of college studying sociology and wanted to specialize in children. Jeremy was also born mechanically inclined. He even took dance classes. Most importantly, he started many programs for recovering addicts by persistently working with a Senator from Springfield, giving the ideas and know how on how to truly help. Several letters and months later his ideas were put to work and are still helping people to this day. Jeremy loved his family and his friends. He loved to help everybody. He loved to make people laugh. He made everyone happy. He loved fishing, singing, music, dancing, dirtbike riding, Reading, 4-wheeling, and cars. He was athletic and artistic in so many ways. Mostly, he loved to learn and make others happy.

Services will be held on Monday January 9, 2017 at 1 PM at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St, Athol, MA 01331, And  a Celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM at the  Athol American Legion located at 325 Pequoig Ave, Athol, MA 01331.

Donations may be made in Jeremy's name to Our Lady Immaculate in Athol, Ma.
