With a spirit as lively as the springtime blossoms in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Joan A. Flynn (April 29, 1940 - February 8, 2025) touched the lives of those around her. Born and raised in Fitchburg, Joan's vibrant personality and infectious laughter left an indelible mark on the heart of her community. As a dedicated waitress at Bickford's Restaurant until her retirement, she served not just meals but also smiles and companionship to all who walked through the restaurant's doors.
Joan's love for life extended far beyond her work. She was a spirited competitor, whether playing Bingo or Yatzee with her close-knit group of friends - Eleanor Lashua, June St. Cyr, Betty St. Onge, and Charlene Koweski. Her vibrant spirit shone even brighter when she embarked on Joan Flynn Bus Tours to Maine, an endeavor that showcased her dedication to bringing joy and adventure into the lives of others. Joan's spirit and love for life were infectious, her laughter a balm to all who knew her.
Joan is survived by her sons, Bernard (Bunzo) Jr. and his wife Caryn and Mickey Rogers and his wife Pam; her daughter, Rhonda Phelps; her sisters, Gloria Monahan and Sandy Yeaton; her grandchildren, Kristin Mathieu, Brooke Dufrense, Ashley Ouellette, Christopher Phelps, Stephany Lundy, Michael Rogers, Jessica Sapp, Sabrina Flynn, Samantha Flynn, Shanna Flynn, and Sara Flynn; and nieces and nephews, and many great-grandchildren.
