It is with great sorrow that the family of Joanne (Marcello) Therrien, 74, of Westminster announces her passing on December 28, 2024. Joanne was born on August 9, 1950, in Leominster, MA to Guido and Ellen Marcello. She lived a life of incredible compassion and an unyielding devotion to her loved ones. Joanne resided in Westminster, Massachusetts, a place she was proud to call home, following her retirement from her service as a Sales Clerk at Walmart. Her loyalty was evident not just in her long career, but also in the unwavering love she held for her family, always placing them at the center of her world.
A woman of many joys, Joanne found pleasure in the simple things. She relished the thrill of a good game of cards with her family. She enjoyed time going to bingo with friends and the serene comfort of spending time with her family. On warm weekend days she would often go out to a flea market or fair with her husband around New England or their Winter getaway in Springhill Florida. In her later years she cherished moments spent with her great-grandson, Oliver Seitz. The generosity of her spirit was felt by many through the volunteer work she did in fund raising for charities for the Blind and Cerebral Palsy.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years Arthur Therrien Jr. of Westminster MA. Her daughter Heather and her husband Daniel Hagelberg of Ashburnham MA. Her sons Arthur Therrien III (Skip) of Westminster MA, and Kevin Therrien of Shirley MA. She is also survived by her granddaughters Ashleigh Seitz, Quinn Johnson, Honor Hagelberg and Mae Hagelberg. Her grandsons Christopher Seitz and his partner Emily Harvey, and Ryan Bailey and his wife Isabella (Izzy). Her great-grandson Oliver Seitz. Her sister Patricia Posco, brothers Lawrence Marcello and his wife Bertha, Dennis Marcello and his wife Jane, and Robert Marcello. She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Therrien (2003).
Her radiant spirit will continue to be a beacon of love and memories for all who knew her. Joanne's life will be celebrated at the Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central St., Winchendon on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 with a funeral service at 12 pm in the funeral home.
