WINCHENDON - Joan T. (Bourgault) Bateman, 79, of 111A Ipswich Drive, Winchendon, died peacefully Saturday morning, September 19th, in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner. She was born in Winchendon on September 28,1929, the daughter of the late Henry L. "Pat" and Grace E. (Gassett) Bourgault, attended Murdock High School, and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon. Joan worked for many years at the C.R. Bard Co, in Fitzwilliam, NH until her retirement. She previously worked for several years at New Hampshire Ball Bearing Co. in Peterborough, NH. Joan enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, doing puzzles and cooking. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family. Her husband of 57 years, Gordon R. "Giddy" Bateman, died in 2005. She leaves a daughter, Linda J. Tenney and her husband Daniel of Winchendon; a sister, Emilie M. Bourgault of North Miami Beach, FL, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a son, Barry W. Bateman, who died in 2003; a brother, Richard H. Bourgault and two sisters, Evelyn Antil and Fern A. Lawsky. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 23rd at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Wednesday, September 23rd from 10 to 11 A.M. preceding the funeral.
