John L. Hallock

October 18, 1952 — October 30, 2013

GARDNER – John L. Hallock, 61, of 472 Mill Street, Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday morning, October 30th, at his residence, with his family and close friends at his side.

He was born in Gardner on October 18, 1952, son of the late Kenneth and Veronica (Armanovich) Hallock and graduated from Gardner High School in 1971.  He lived in Gardner for most of his life.

John worked as a foreman for the Municipal Grounds Department for the City of Gardner, for whom he worked for many years.  An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.  He was a member of Gardner Fish and Gun Club and Thompson Center Association.  John enjoyed camping on Cape Cod and hunting with his son and close friends.

He leaves his wife of 37 years, Darcy L. (Heyes) Hallock; his son and best friend, Adam J. Hallock of Gardner, a granddaughter, Gabby Hallock of Gardner; three brothers Kenneth Hallock and his wife Marcy of Hubbardson, Peter Hallock and his wife Jayne of Gardner and David Hallock and his significant other Lodia of Hubbardston; his father in law and mother in law, Samuel and Rosemary Heyes of Barre and several nephews and nieces.  John also leaves three very close friends, Walter LaGrassa, Victor Starzynski and Bruce Szkil and their wives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 2nd  at 10 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.  The Rev. Dr. R. Gary Heikkila will officiate.   Burial will be in Crystal Lake Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, November 1st from 5 to 8 P.M.
