TEMPLETON – Jose Francisco Leaño, 70, of 51 Hospital Road, died peacefully Tuesday morning, April 14, 2020 in Alliance Health at Baldwinville.
He was born in Chocontá, Colombia, son of the late Luis Antonio Leaño and Marina Leaño-Luque. He lived in this area for many years to stay close to his grandkids, but kept in touch with his loving family in Colombia.
Francisco was non-materialistic and gave things away freely without a second thought. He was extremely proud of his family and proud of his work ethic. In his lifetime, he had worked as a floor boy, cook, operator in the chemical industry, assembly technician and as a chemist/ chemical technician. His hobbies included fishing, playing chess, painting, hiking and he truly enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and family. He also loved listening to Pink Floyd, going to malls and eating chocolates and sweets. His favorite saying was “What are we going to do today?” and he followed up with “We’re going to have a good time!” His family affectionately called him “Papa” and “Kiko” which was a title he adored.
He leaves two sons, Thomas J. Leaño and his wife Kimberly of Phillipston, and Joseph D. Leaño and his wife Christa of Templeton; eight grandkids, Chloe, Isabelle, Jackson, Teagan, Dexter, Briella, Ryker and Vayda; his ex-wife Kathleen Blake; seven siblings, the late Luis Alberto, the late Magda, Leonardo, Maria Victoria, Yolanda, Luz Marina and Maria Claudia; and many close nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
