WINCHENDON – Josephine I. (Hadmack) Monette, 96, formerly of 131 Ipswich Drive, died peacefully Monday morning, August 11th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner.
She was born in Winchendon on November 6, 1917, the daughter of the late Peter and Pauline (Gabruk) Hadmack and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon.
Josephine was an assembler for several years at the former Ray Plastics, until her retirement. A long time member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, she was a volunteer at the former Good As New Shop. She served as President of the Ipswich Tenants Council for five years and was a member of the Golden Age Club. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting and dancing.
Her husband of 33 years, Henry J. Monette, died in 1973. She leaves a daughter, Linda A. Howard-Kurent and her husband Richard of Sarasota, FL; three grandchildren, Valerie Solum, Kathryn Bishop and Ross Howard and his wife Rani; four great grandchildren, Matthew, Aubrey, Brandon and Dawson, as well as several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Francis Hadmack, Henry Hadmack and Michael Hadmack and one sister, Alice Brow, predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 22nd at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. A calling hour from 10 to 11 A.M. will precede the funeral.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
