Julia Rose Donaway

WINCHENDON - Julia Rose (Goula) Donaway, 90, died Thursday, November 24th at the home of her granddaughter, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Barre, MA. on June 5,1915, the daughter of Martin and Albina (Demoga) Goula and had resided in Winchendon for most of her life. For several years, she was an assembler at Clapp Novelty until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her husband of 38 years, Maurice A. Donaway, died in 1972. She leaves a son, Kenneth M. Donaway of Winchendon; three daughters, Phyllis L. Guy of Winchendon, Nancy A. Field of Winchendon and Anna M. Jarvenpaa of New Salem, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sisters, Josephine May and Victoria Lucier; one brother, Thomas Goula, as well as two grandchildren, Sally Lema and Timothy Eddings. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Tuesday, November 29th in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, November 28th.
