Katherine A. (Sibley) Wakefield

August 9, 1948 — April 11, 2015

WINCHENDON – Katherine A. (Sibley) Wakefield, 66, of 225 Teel Road, died peacefully Saturday morning, April 11th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

She was born in Winchendon on August 9, 1948, daughter of the late John W. and Delina (Radicioni) Sibley and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon.  She was a graduate of Murdock High School.

Katherine worked as a seamstress at the former Winchendon Dress Shop many years ago.  Her hobby was breeding dogs, mostly pugs and little mixed breeds.  She enjoyed writing poetry and singing.  Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

Her husband, Robert E. Wakefield, died in 2013.  She leaves three daughters, Paula Eddy of Athol, Christina Lindgren of Winchendon and Kayla Fleurant of Winchendon; her brothers and sisters, Harry Sibley of Winchendon, Arnaldo “John” Sibley of Winchendon, Gail Sibley of Athol and Dale Sibley of New Mexico; six grandchildren, Serryna Eddy, Hailee Eddy, Emily Jablonka, Nathan Lindgren, Dustin Richards and Marlayna Richards; two great grandchildren, Matthew Keith and DJ Richards and many nephews and nieces.  A brother, Robert Murphy Jr., predeceased her.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17th at 11 A.M. in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.  The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate.
