Kathleen Morrison Brown, 91, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, with her family by her side after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. A long-time resident of Gardner Massachusetts, residing at 135 Chelsea Street, Kathleen was most recently a resident of Benchmark Senior Living at Haverhill Crossings, Haverhill, Massachusetts. Kathleen was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 11, 1932, the daughter of the late Phillip Morrison and Edna (Macleod) Morrison. Kathleen graduated from Templeton High School in 1949 and married her high school sweetheart, Robert Arthur Brown, Jr. in 1952 at the East Templeton Methodist Church. Kathleen and Robert were married for 62 years prior to his death in February of 2015.
Kathy an avid knitter, enjoyed reading, singing in the church choir, cooking, dancing, traveling, and entertaining family, and friends. She loved vacationing in Rockport, Massachusetts with family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Kathleen was a kind, caring woman, and always put her family first in her life. She was loved by all, and we will miss having her in our lives.
She is survived by a son Robert A. Brown, III and his wife Gail M. (Beauregard) of North Hampton, NH, a daughter Robin L. Brown of Merrimac, MA, and a son Randall M. Brown and his significant other Tracy Barusso of Gloucester, MA; grandchildren, Paul M. Erickson and his wife Tarah, of Carlsbad, CA, Robert A. Brown IV and his girlfriend Michele McCauley, of Portsmouth, NH, Chelsea M. Brown, of North Hampton, NH, and Alexandra Barusso of Gloucester, MA; great grandchildren Presley and Pierce Erickson, of Carlsbad, CA; in-laws, Nancy Whiting, Don and Linda Stoddard, Jeff and Janice Howard, Janice Brown and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Kathleen was predeceased by her brother Phillip Morrison, her sister Audrey Erickson and in laws Mark Brown, Sterling Whiting, and Paula Niemela.
The family would like to thank the staff at Benchmark Senior Living at Haverhill Crossings for the wonderful care given while a resident.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 11 A.M. at Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon, MA.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 10 to 11 A.M. preceding the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made, in her name, to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
